Cricket Formats and Competitions
For cricket fans in Bangladesh, betting is not just about a single match — it is a whole experience. At ji baji, you can bet across three main formats — T20, ODI, and Test.
T20: The fastest format, with results in just a few hours. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are the two leagues most followed by Bangladeshi fans. Every match of the T20 World Cup brings its own level of excitement.
ODI: This fifty-over format calls for a greater mix of strategy and patience. ICC tournaments such as the World Cup and Champions Trophy add another dimension to ODI betting.
Test: In five-day cricket, a draw is a valid result, making the markets more varied. When the Tigers play a long series, Test betting becomes even more interesting.
International bilateral series run throughout the year, so cricket betting season is effectively year-round.
Cricket alongside Football and Other Sports
Football Betting
In football, a draw is a common result, so there are three markets — home win, draw, away win. Cricket has no draw market in T20 or ODI, so it is a straight head-to-head between two teams. In football, handicap and goal totals are used more frequently.
Other Sports
You can also bet on tennis, kabaddi, badminton, and more. These sports generally have fewer markets than cricket, but match winner and set score markets are available.
How Betting Differs
In cricket, every ball is a new opportunity — wickets, runs, over totals. In football, time is fixed and goals are few. Cricket is therefore especially suited to in-play betting. Unlike slots or casino games which are entirely chance-based, cricket betting rewards an understanding of match situations.
Popular Betting Markets
Cricket betting is not limited to just "who will win." Understanding the different markets makes every match more enjoyable.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which of the two teams will win. In T20 and ODI there is no draw, so there are only two options.
Toss Betting
Bet on which team will win the toss before the match begins. The outcome is a completely independent event, so odds are generally close to even on both sides.
Top Batsman
In this market you pick which player will score the most runs in a team's innings — choosing from that team's batting lineup.
Total Runs (Over/Under)
A specific number is set for total runs in the match. For example, will total runs be more than 330 — you choose over or under.
First Wicket Fall
In this market you bet on which over the first wicket will fall in an innings, or at what score — you need a sense of how quickly or slowly the innings will begin.
Multi Bet
Combine multiple selections into a single bet — you only receive a return if every selection is correct. For example, if results from three separate matches are placed in one multi bet, all three must be right.
Man of the Match
Bet on which player will be named the best performer at the end of the match — you need to consider both batting and bowling.

How to Read Odds
Odds are written in three formats — decimal, fractional, and American. All three express the same underlying information; only the way of presenting it differs.
Example 1 — The same odds in three formats
Say you are betting on Team A to win and the stake is ৳1,000.
If Team A wins: you get back ৳3,000 (৳2,000 profit + your original ৳1,000 stake).
If Team A loses: the full ৳1,000 is lost.
The decimal format makes it easy to work out your return — just multiply the stake by the odds.
Example 2 — Odds on a favourite
Say Team B is the favourite and the stake is ৳1,000.
If Team B wins: you get back ৳1,800 (৳800 profit).
American minus odds mean: how much you need to stake to make a ৳100 profit.
Odds on a favourite are generally lower — the return is smaller, but the team is considered more likely to win.
In a multi bet, the odds of each selection are multiplied together. For example: if three matches have decimal odds of 1.40, 1.50, and 1.80, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.80 = 3.78 (approximately). So a ৳100 stake returns ৳378 if all three are correct — but if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Live Betting — Odds Change In-Play
What makes cricket ideal for live betting is its gradually shifting pace. Every wicket that falls pushes the batting team's odds up; every big six shifts the odds in favour of the bowling side. You have the chance to read the situation over by over before making a decision.
Consider this example — at the 15th over, the batting team has lost 4 wickets. At that moment, the odds in the match winner market will have shifted considerably from where they were before. Live betting lets you act on these changes.
The total runs market also runs in-play. If few runs come in the powerplay, the under odds on the total shorten; if runs flood in during the final overs, the over odds shorten. This constant movement is what sets live cricket betting apart.

A Few Practical Points on Betting
Betting is one form of entertainment — keeping a few simple things in mind helps make the experience a good one.
Set a fixed budget and do not go beyond it — enjoy betting as entertainment; chasing losses with more bets is not the right path.
Understand the match format — a market that makes sense in T20 can be quite different in Test. Choose markets that suit the format.
Knowing the odds lets you place each bet more consciously — work out in advance what return you can expect and how much risk you are taking on.
Multi bets show a larger return, but the risk is also much higher — one wrong selection and everything is lost. It is better for newcomers to start with single bets.
Do not rush in live betting — rather than placing a bet the moment a wicket falls, take a moment to read the situation.
Follow the responsible gaming guidelines — read the Responsible Gaming Rules for more details.
Entertainment vs Profit
Betting is never a guaranteed source of income — it is a form of entertainment. Betting can deepen your interest in a cricket match, but the outcome can go either way depending on the decisions made. Remember — never bet more than you can afford to lose.
